Calls for 'spin' to bear brunt

The chairman of the Dorset Police Federation has called for an immediate review of the amount spent by the force on public relations and "spin".

"Already some chief officers are talking in terms of cuts to police officer numbers, saying that they cannot be sustained. I believe that they have a duty to sustain warranted police officer numbers and this can be achieved by focusing on other non-essential areas where cuts can afford to be made."
