KENNY Overthrow won the Painswick Golf Club championships over 36 holes.

The 16-year-old Crypt School pupil stormed back in the second round with a four-under-par 63.

He took the title by two shots from former club champion Pete Jelf.

After the first round, Pete Jelf and Brendan Nunan shot 66 with Simon Green and Jack Hume 68 followed by Archie Macshannon and Kenny Overthrow with 69.

In the second round Pete Jelf followed up with a 68, but Overthrow secured the title, with a eagle two on the par four 16th helping him on his way.

LEADING SCORES: 1 Kenny Overthrow (69-63-132); 2 Pete Jelf (66- 68-134); 3 Brendan Nunan (66-71-137); 4 Paul Thomas (71-67-138), tiffany heart necklace Simon Green (68-70-138).

Jack Hume won the nett competition for the Browning Cup, while Niall Macklin won the Rabbits Cup with a nett 60 on a countback from Geoff Evans.
